Returned to site with replacement dual pressure switch. Upon arrival the system was turned off at the thermostat. Turned to heat mode and went down to the furnace. Found Blower Motor running and unit was in an EE1 Pressure Switch error code. Removed leads from both switches and found one pressure switch was intermittently closing while testing continuity. Reconnected the old pressure switch and tried to replicate issue. Installed new pressure switches and cycled system. Allowed system to run and found no issues. Measured Pressure across the first switch at -1.8” WC with the switch rated for -1.27” WC. The drain switch was pulling around -1.0” WC and it is rated for -0.1” WC. Measured amperage on the inducer motor. Tested combustion and gas pressure.
Performed QA on Goodman gas furnace install. Tested system in heating mode and performed combustion testing and adjusted gas pressure. Tested the condensation pump to make sure it was discharging. Cycled system multiple times. Reviewed programming on system. Completed checklist form in system. We reinstalled the UV Light but it was not wired into the system. The Ballast for the UV Bulb has brown markings on the side. Would recommend replacement of the UV light system. Did not wire the UV light into the system.
Arrived at no heat call for Goodman, gas furnace, turn thermostat on the unit and waited till unit Got a call for heat, unit failed to come on multiple times and was giving an error code. Error code indicated issue with the pressure switch. Pressure switch was taken off cleaned out and reattached and unit is working fine. Unit turned on and off multiple times while I was there and is now heating the home properly no other issues.
Performed gas heat, tuneup, checked electrical connections, low and high voltage ok replaced filter, cleaned sensor and spark igniter. Replaced filter. Performed combustion test check supply and return air. furnace keeps going off on high limit, all vents are close and blower motor is set to high speed. cycle heater couple times ok.
Set new furnace in location on bricks and furnace feet. Installed provided transition between coil and furnace and panned off. Installed new 10x24 return drop with aprilaire 2410 filter box.Adapted to existing gas line and checked for leaks. Adapted to existing vent pipes. Made all high and low voltage connections to unit. Installed new 4x4 switch and outlet box. Wired condensate pump safety in series to break 24v R call to thermostat. Replaced condensate pump as old one was not working. Ran new condensate from coil to pump. Tested pump operation. Performed test out procedures. Cleaned work area and reviewed installation with home owner.
Estimate
No heat first floor system found unit off on high limit. Checked operation found blower limit not connected to its original location (hanging inside blower compartment). After deep trough check up found holes on heat exchanger. Took photos of holes and showed them to customer. At this time immediate repairs are needed and required. Will recommend getting an estimate to replace system. Current air conditioning is from 2001 and furnace from 2005. Called Goodman and found out heat exchanger was an under 20 year warranty (parts only) provided estimate to replace heat exchanger under parts only warranty. Customer still responsible for labor and other heater related parts.
Attic was airsealed, rafter vents were installed, and insulation level was brought to an R-49. recessed lights were airsealed as well. The basement was weatherized with ccspf, and the attic garage ceiling was dense packed. Following the dense pack, the foam board on the garage ceiling was repaired and air sealed.
Dummy call for estimate.
Checked the a/c side of the system. Checked the air filter and replaced. Inspected the wiring connections and the voltages. Inspected the indoor coil and flushed and tested the coil pan and the condensate drain line. Checked the blower motor condition and checked static pressure and amp draws . Checked the outdoor unit pressures by using super heat and sub cool methods. Inspected the capacitor and checked the amperage for the fan motor and the compressor. Checked the indoor cooling splits at the return and the supply. The a/c system is working fine at this time of service. On the inspection found a/c drain goes into the foundation. Goes from 3/4 pvc to copper . The copper has multiple holes which eventually will start leaking . I recommended in adding a condensate pump w/ a water safety. It has an outlet at the unit and a wash sink to run the 3/8 tubing. I sent the estimates over to Steve Barry .
