This will prepare you for what to expect during the AC replacement and how large of disruption it will be to your household. It also lets you prepare for how long you will be left without a working AC unit, as your house can be hot and uncomfortable.

The timeline will vary by project, but AC contractors estimate the installation can take 4 to 8 hours. This includes removing the old unit and getting the new one up and running.

Schedule Emergency Heating Repairs For Carbon Monoxide Leaks in Exton

There are many risks to running your heater in the winter months. While these can adequately keep your house warm, they also pose risks to your household.

One of the biggest threats is a carbon monoxide leak. Carbon monoxide leaks can happen suddenly. If this occurs, it can be incredibly dangerous for your family – even deadly.

In a heating system, combustion occurs in the heat exchanger, and air circulates around the outside of the unit. If there is a crack in the heat exchanger, then the combustion is incomplete, and it can create a carbon monoxide buildup. If this creates a leak, it can put your family at risk.

When you need emergency heater repair services, call our company for help. DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company provides the ultimate customer experience in Exton, PA. We guarantee 100% of your satisfaction!

Symptoms That Indicate You Need a New Heater

Do you need to replace your heater ? It’s essential to watch for key symptoms. Our experts recommend watching for the following signs:

  • An aging unit: If your unit is nearing the end of its lifespan, it can be time to replace it.
  • Rising energy bills: If your monthly utility bills are increasing, it can indicate your unit is working too hard to warm your home.
  • Bad indoor air quality: If you’ve noticed more respiratory issues while you’re in your home or seen more dust piling up around your house, it can indicate your system is not adequately removing particles from the air.
  • Uneven heating in your house: If you notice hot and cold spots around your home, it can indicate your unit is not efficiently heating your house.
  • Odd smells: If you start to smell exhaust or foul odors, it’s time to replace your system.

Key Components in Your Heat Pump

Numerous parts of your heat pump perform essential functions. Some key components can include:

  • Outdoor unit: The outdoor unit contains a coil and a fan.
  • Indoor unit: The indoor unit, or the air handler, also includes a coil and a fan.
  • Refrigerant: Refrigerant absorbs and rejects heat as it circulates through the system.
  • Compressor: This pressurizes the refrigerant and moves it through the unit.
  • Reversing valve: This changes the refrigerant flow, allowing the unit to switch between heating and cooling.
  • Expansion valve: This regulates the flow of the refrigerant as it passes through the system.

How an Energy Audit Can Help You Save

An energy audit is a powerful tool to help homeowners in Exton reduce energy waste and lower utility bills. At DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company, our expert team conducts thorough audits to identify areas where your home is losing energy, such as drafts, poor insulation, and inefficient systems.

Once we identify problem areas, we provide tailored recommendations, including air sealing, insulation upgrades, and other energy-saving solutions. By addressing these issues, you can enjoy a more comfortable home while significantly cutting down on energy costs. Let DiBiase help you save money and improve your home’s efficiency today!

Should You Repair or Replace Your Water Heater?

Deciding whether to repair or replace your water heater can be challenging.

If your water heater is less than 10 years old and experiencing minor issues like inconsistent heating or small leaks, a professional repair may be the best solution.

However, if your unit is over 10-15 years old, frequently breaking down, or no longer meeting your household’s hot water needs, replacement is often the more cost-effective option.

Upgrading to a new, energy-efficient model can improve performance, lower energy costs, and provide reliable hot water for years to come. Contact DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company to assess your system and help you make the best decision for your home.

Which Water Treatment System Is Right for Your Home?

Choosing the right water treatment system depends on your home's specific needs.

Consider a whole-home filtration system if your water has an unpleasant taste, odor, or visible impurities.

For homes dealing with hard water issues—such as mineral buildup on plumbing fixtures and appliances—a water softener is an ideal solution to protect your home’s water system and improve water quality.

DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company offers both filtration and softening solutions, tailored to ensure your home receives the best possible water treatment. Contact us today to learn which system is right for you!

Arrived to unit claiming for heat to 73° but thermostat on 67°. Came into basement and saw heat running but no blower. Inspected heat exchanger and flame sensor. By flame sensor unit appeared to have been short cycling. Checked blower capacitor and it was 8.9/10. Made a call for fan and the blower motor did not come on. Checked my voltage from control board and it was 0. Shut down unit and tested motor on door switch. Blower came on. Unit has a bad control board. Homeowner was with me and I told him control board and labor was around $1000. Unit is 25 years old furnace and ac. R22 refrigerant which is no longer made. He doesn’t want to make an investment in a unit that old. Would like someone to come out and give him pricing options on replacement. Jumped blower to door switch for temporary heat until replacement.

Upon arrival bill told me the high volt fuse fried and blower motor. He replaced blower motor and fuse. Still nothing he said. I checked fuse it was still ok. Was getting power to the board. I noticed one leg has 287 one leg has 0 and ground. Never saw this before and couldn’t find and information on unit. Called islandaire at 2:30 and waited for a return call. Never called back. I dug deeper into it and found the fuse on board blown. Fuse model number “582”. Bill is going to order some of these fuses. I think we need to get these fuses and speak to islandaire. It’s a 277 volt unit. So should have around 140 on each leg. But I did notice on board it say L2(N). I don’t want to mess with anything until I speak to them. Unit does say nema 6-15 plug which has the voltage on both legs. Will follow up after speaking to islandaire and bill receives fuses.

Unit was in operation when I got here. Homeowner said he had to mess with vinyl on pump this morning. I turned off unit and went to remove pump to inspect it. The safety wires immediately fell apart and wire nut fell off. They had the orange wire nuts on them and not put together well. Stripped all wires and put on blue wire nuts. Added condensate tabs as well. Wired unit back up and tested operation. Pulled on condensate wires and shook pump. No issues. Seems like it was just a loose safety wire.

My furnace stopped working Sunday night 11/24. I called DIBIASE 1st thing Monday morning. They were excellent in sending a service technician over right away. Unfortunately the technician had no idea how to troubleshoot my furnace. He said the reason it wasn’t working was due to my licensed electrician installed a dimmer switch 5ft. From my thermostat that he caused the power to be cut off from my thermostat by installing the dimmer incorrectly shorting out my thermostat. So, I had my electrician return on 11/26 at $160/hour. He rechecked his wiring and told me it was so totally impossible that the dimmer light switch would cause my thermostat not to work as with very little inspection told me THE LIGHT SWITCH AND THE THERMOSTAT ARE ON 2 SEPARATE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS WIRED TO 2 SEPARATE CIRCUIT BREAKERS IN MY BOX! Why didn’t Tim know this? Why did he advise me to call my electrician to return to fix a light switch to repair my furnace? I’m not paying $84.15 service call fee and due to the very poor advise from DiBiase’s technician DiBiase needs to reimburse me for a useless visit from my electrician charge for $160.00. CALL ME ASAP TO STRAIGHTEN THESE EXPENSES OUT. Thomas Matyjasik

Arrived for no heat we are just here yesterday and had told the customer that he would need electrician. The Electrician apparently found no problem with their side of power . I came out to look at the equipment. I had 120 V coming to the receptacle. I checked my wire nuts and the wiring at the furnace coming in from the receptacle and had no 120 volts . I took apart the 4x4 box For the switch and receptacle and found a very loose neutral from the furnace that was barely connected and causing arcing. I Stripped the neutral wire back put new wire nuts and tighten all connections . I Turned the system back on and tested the furnace , it came back on and and started producing heat. The system is back up and running at this time of service, no charge for recall.

She also mentioned that before her old system had low airflow everywhere and now some vents have a lot of air and other are still lower. When I went into the attic I checked all of the take offs and none of the, have dampers installed to adjust/balance airflow. Also found they used R-4 Flex in the attic instead of R-8. Checked the return filter grills and the filters need to be changed. Also found she is using MERV-10 or higher filters. Let her know to not use above MERV-8 filters and to see if that stops the noise. She is going to order new filters and change herself. Filter sizes are: 12x12x1 and 12x20x. Also let her know about the dampers and the ductwork in the attic. I recommended that she have all the ductwork reinsulated and new flex duct ran with dampers installed.
