11/1/24. Removed existing inducer motor assembly and collector box. Found bolts rusted and corroded had to break old collector box to remove. Installed new collector box with high temperature silicone sealed up installed new inducer motor assembly. Tested operation. No water leaks found perform combustion test. Gas furnace is working fine at time of service.
Went into the attic and took photos of roof to get a placement for attic van. Found the attic light is a pull down chain and only thing on that line. can put a junction box in and pull electrical from that to supply attic fan. Anthony said that he has been having problems with gnats so he would like a constant flow of air to help with gnats.
Performed tuneup on five year-old Goodman furnace, performed combustion analysis and checked all related ignition components including hot surf igniter cleaned flame censor and tested inducer motor. Checked blower capacitor, and blower amperage as well as changed filter and checked the temperature split of the unit. An issue was noticed that was related to the condensation produced by the gas furnace and through further inspection. It was noted that the collector box where the inducer motor mounts was leaking at the bottom, the bolts for the inducer motor rusted out and the inducer motor is amp higher than normal, customer customer was given an estimate to replace the parts related to the issue and they accepted. Parts need to be ordered and a return visit is required to install them. Mn-gmss920803bnaa Sn-1904030981
Perform tuneup on 8 year old luxaire gas furnace, Checked combustion and all associated ignition components, including flame sensor cleaned flame center, checked burners and gas pressures. Checked blower, motor capacitor, and inducer motor, Filter was changed. Delta t Was taken as well as combustion analysis. Unit is running good at this time. Customer was recommended a surge protector.
Installed overflow safety switch in secondary port of drain pan; wired to shut equipment down when overflow occurs. Installed AG3000 surge protector at air handler. Installed AG3000 surge protector at outdoor equipment disconnect. Afterwards cleaned area under attic access and tested system operations. Set thermostat back to “Cool 82°” System operating well at this time.
Completed AC tune up for 2 ton Rheem heat pump system. Inspected condition of both the indoor and the outdoor coil. Some rust/corrosion on indoor coil Filters should be replaced ASAP. Talked to Emily who said she will do it. 2 custom sized filters. Measured temperature split (67-47=20°) Good Inspected drain and pump, tested pump. Left estimate for overflow safety switch. Checked wiring, controls, electric motors and components. Monitored R10A refrigerant pressures. Suction pressure a little low but there was no load (return temp 67 and filters dirty.) System operating well at this time. System is at the age where major component failure can occur and is considered average system age for a heat pump system.
Performed precision a/c tune up on (2) luxaire heat pump systems. Replaced (2) 20x25x1 air filters. Checked all electrical conections and components. Tested outdoor capacitors. Checked temperature split. Blew out condensate drains. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures at indoor and outdoor units. Both systems are working fine at time of inspection.
Fully assessed no cooling situation. Found indoor fan and condenser fan running when I arrived but no compressor. Tested 45/5 capacitor and found failed capacitor. Recommended replacement of capacitor. Replaced capacitor and tested operation. Compressor does start a little hard but is working at this time. Checked refrigerant pressures they were 336/153 very high return temp at 85 degrees but running at an 18 degree split. A/c system is working at time of service.
Found Rheem water heater leaking from upper element threading. Explained to homeowner that this cannot be repaired. Water heater needs to be replaced. Provided estimate to install new water heater. Homeowner decided he is going to replace the water heater himself.
Changed filter customer had a merv 14 on arrival so replaced it with another one and explained to customer I don’t recommend going higher than an 8. Checked electrical, inspected both coils, checked capacitors, blew out drain, checked temps, checked pressures. Inspector told Erin he had to replace the rods but it is propane.
