Job Locations and Reviews
Completed 6 month inspection for 3 Ton Ton XV heat pump Replaced Aprilaire 413 filter provided by homeowner; recommend replacing every 6 months. Indoor and outdoor coils in good condition Inspected wiring and controls, 15KW electric heat amps with blower 62A Good equipment has surge protection Cleared EZ trap. Added treatment tabs to pump Measured temperature rise and static pressure Tested defrostcyxle operation Verified refrigerant charge by using Test mode heating and monitoring with manifold gauges. Dan was a little concerned with the noise of outdoor unit. I sent him video of defrost mode. This is normal. I did tighten a screw on the reversing valve access panel which relived a slight hum during normal operation. Left email estimate for VIP plan membership. System operating well at this time.
Arrived at no heat call, boiler was running upon arrival. Spoke with customer and he stated the heat went out and he had to relight pilot. Checked pilot assembly and there is significant flame impingement and a new thermocouple would just get sooted up so a full pilot assembly and new thermocouple are recommended. Customer refused repairs and refused the option for a quote on replacement.
Performed tune up on Lennox gas, furnace, when unit and heating mode and checked combustion and gas pressures as well as temperature split across unit. Blower motor and heat exchanger were inspected and all related ignition components were inspected including inspecting and cleaning flame sensor and hot surface igniter and blower inducer motor. No issues with the unit unit at this time.
Arrived for heat tune up. 16x25x1 filter in good condition. Equipment is 80,000 BTU natural gas furnace. Burners are rusted. Inducer motor is noisy. Used inspection camera found rusted eyelets, and cracks at front of heat exchanger. Showed homeowner. Based on this I shut furnace down and red tagged. Options are to replace heat exchanger under parts warranty, upgrade furnace or upgrade system. I also left estimates for burner replacement and inducer assembly replacement. I encourage system upgrade including AC. Heat pump hybrid options are also available with rebates. Note there is no common wire between thermostat and furnace control. System is down for now until heat exchanger is replaced or system is upgraded. Do not operate furnace. Homeowner will look into his schedule to determine a time for consultation he is interested in system upgrade quotes.
Inspected the new indoor coil and tested the ez trap and the condensate pump. Took indoor temp splits for the return and the supply. Checked the outdoor level and the disconnect level make sure all penetrations are caulked and tested in AC mode on outdoor unit. Talked with the customer to see if he had any questions. The new system looks good. It’s up and running at this time of service.
Performed QA on Trane Gas Furnace/Heat Pump system. Reviewed installation with homeowner and reviewed with her how the heat pump/Furnace system operates. Tested system in cooling mode and tested in heating mode. Performed combustion testing and measured gas pressures. Tested wet switch and ez trap safeties. Filled condensation pump to test. Homeowner mentioned she overheard the installers talking about spilling something and needing to take pictures. She was worried that something happened to the system. Did not find any issues or any indication that something was spilled. Completed checklist form in system.
