Fully assessed no heating situation on well McLean 80% gas boiler. Found chimney completely sorted up and packed with black soot. Found some A crack in one of the burners which was causing the boiler more than likely to not burn correctly and so it up entire chimney. Some of the wiring is melted. Recommend getting a chimney sweeping company to clean out the chimney and install new gas boiler. Gas boiler is from 2004 . Set up appointment with our office to have someone come out to give a replacement estimate.
Upon arrival for gas furnace maintenance I changed the filter. Cleaned flame sensor. Checked burners and heat exchanger. Inspected blower motor and assembly. Cleaned pressure switch port on inducer motor. Checked igniter ohms. Checked gas pressures. Checked air temperature rise. Performed combustion test. Unit is in normal operation at this time.
Arrived onsite and spoke with the homeowner about the issue. He said that he tried to relight the pilot on the water heater but was unable. Reset the control and lit the pilot. Turned pilot off and removed cover to inspect the Ignitor and thermocouple. Used sanding cloth to clean around the thermocouple and Ignitor. Put cover back on and lit pilot. Set water heater control to “Hot” setting and monitored operation. Measured water temperature at 109 Degrees and water heater was still heating. Cycled on/off several times to ensure it was firing off and the pilot was remaining lit.

Performed Air Conditioning Tune Up on Comfortaker/NCP system. Checked electrical connections and tested capacitors. Measured voltage and amp draw on system. Cleaned drain line and ez trap. Poured water through drain pipe to make sure it was draining correctly. Checked the EZ trap safety to test that it was shutting the system. Replaced the 16x20x11 Air Filter. Put system in cooling mode and measured refrigerant charge, static pressure, and temperature delta.
