Completed quality assurance for 100,000 BTU 2-stage natural gas furnace+ 4 Ton AC system: Checked all aspects of install: mechanical, vent and drain piping, wiring, control setting ductwork connections. Tested furnace operations: verified gas pressures, flame rectification, combustion tests pass. Checked proper operation of zoning panel and dampers Checked humidifier wiring and operations. Measured temperature rise and static pressure in low and hi fire heating with both zone dampers open and with 1 closed. Install passes quality assurance inspection.
Completed plan member heat tune up for 80,000 BTU natural gas furnace Replaced Aprilaire 35 water panel provided by homeowner. Set humidistat to 35%. Opened bypass damper. Replaced Aprilaire 413 filter Inspected heat exchanger, inducer assembly and pressure switches Cleaned burners; left estimate to upgrade (4) burners to stainless steel Cleaned flame sensor with fine steel wool, verified flame rectification circuit Ignitor in good condition, measured ohm value Cleared EZ trap, added treatment tabs to pump Measured temperature rise and static pressure Combustion and draft tests: Pass System operating well at this time.
Arrived for maintenance on oil furnace and to install a 5” t with damper. I changed the air filter. I shut the oil off at the tank and changed oil filter. I went over to unit and changed the nozzle and filter. As I was taking the nozzle off I noticed it was pretty bad. I cleaned it and checked the size and spray. Nozzle was wrong spray. Unit had no model number to verify which nozzle to use or brand name on unit. I called around to supply house and none of them could answer it. I called utc Canada corporation/icp in Canada and they looked into it and verified model and brand for me. When I checked the chart I verified it was the wrong nozzle. I cleaned cad cell, electrodes, cone, and nozzle assembly. I tested transformer and primary control for proper function. I removed chimney to inspect it and install damper. Was really sooted up. I cleaned the chimney base and flue. I removed everything from heat exchanger and cleaned heat exchanger, baffle and secondary ports. Put the heat exchan
Completed (2) heat tune ups; natural gas furnaces Replaced both 16x25x1 filters For each furnace Inspected burners, heat exchanger, inducer assembly and pressure switches Cleaned flame sensor with fine steel wool Ignitor in good condition, verified ohm reading Confirmed manifold gas pressures Inspected drains Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors and fan speed settings Measured temperature rise and static pressure Combustion and draft tests: Pass Systems operating well at this time. Discussed and left email estimate for APCOX whole home air treatment systems
Installed new 80% trane gas furnace. Reused return and placed unjust on top of new return box. Adapted furnace to coil. Sealed all sure penetrations on equipment. Adapted high volt and installed new outlet and switch. Adapted condensate line and reused ez trap. Adapted gas line and Adapted flu piping. Installed new ecobee thermostat and wired in low volt with safeties. Cleaned up work area and tested out equipment.
Performed heat tune up/maintenance, replaced air filter, cleaned burners and flame sensor, inspected heat exchanger. Blew out condensate trap and drain. Started humidifier, cleaned and replaced water panel. Set humidistat to 35% rh. Checked voltage, amperage and electrical connections, measured capacitor values. Started gas furnace, tested limit and safety switches, performed combustion test. Checked operation and check temperature rise. Ok inspect heat exchanger took photos and showed condition to customer. Unit is 15 years old. Recommend getting an estimate to upgrade system. Home comfort consultant to come out to provide estimate.
Performed gas heat tune up on a downflow 80% Goodman furnace 2018 test operation cycle heater. Check supply and return air temp. Supply air 150 f and 65 return. Static pressure on return is .67 wc there is no filter rack installed and also return duct is too small to Carry volume required, supply main trunk is all rusted with holes. Took photos of condition supply stattic is .40 wc. Customer has been provide estimate for replacement of ductwork. Cycle heater ok would recommend getting ductwork done.
The first stage inducer pressure switch is randomly opening causing intermittent no heat issues. There is more than adequate inducer draft to keep the switch contacts closed (measuring -.78’ switch is rated for -.50”) Dual pressure switch has failed. Checked flame rectification and condition of burners: Good Aprilaire 413 filter in good condition. There are no water safeties on system. I left estimates for wire in pump safety and for wet switch. I discussed plan membership and provided estimate to replace dual pressure switch. Yaser decided he will try to use another company he has been working with and will get back to us. If he gets the wet switch we will charge him labor only but there will be no guarantee/warranty. We replaced the heat exchanger for this furnace 2/5/24 for a different homeowner. We did not install the furnace. Combustion tests: Pass Furnace will continue to intermittently shut off until pressure switch is replaced.
